A new year has come to us, unexpectedly.

So, with 2U out of the way, I’ve been thinking if that would be enough for someone to take on Blood Drive. I mean, people can play the first two games, then read the 2U, and then wait for xSEED’s release of BD (if it happens). So, would they feel like they are missing anything besides the extra chapter in 2U? Unfortunately, yes, they would. Why? Because there’s a light novel called Cemetery0 written by Kedouin that tells us about Naho and the people surrounding her. Not only about Sayaka, Aiko and Inumaru (that appear in 2U), but also about Magari (a key character in BD). So, when you see all these characters do things around in BD, you feel like you’re missing something, and that they are more than flavor characters meant to make the world richer: that they have their own story.

So, while I own this light novel, as you know, I haven’t worked on the Yume Nikki LN for a long time, so I won’t do anything as crazy as to start another translation before finishing that one. But that doesn’t mean I can’t translate the first two chapters of the manga (a sample in the publisher’s web page)… or that’s what I wanted to do, but I kinda failed (like I always do) with my self imposed deadline, and could only finish the first chapter for today (I’ll release the second in the next few days, hopefully). Usually I wouldn’t pick up a manga like this due to the low density of pantyshots and fanservice in the manga, but after reading the page 19, who could resist? No, seriously, whoever wrote that must have been high at that moment to think that could pass as a cute, friendly moment. Because remember, no matter how much power you put into your yuri goggles, Sayaka and Naho are only friends, and you’ll never be able to see anything else in their interactions.

I don’t know if I’ll continue (are there even raws available? I sure haven’t found any working link), or if I’ll translate the novel (even if they are listed in the future projects section, don’t trust it), but hopefully, you’ll get a glimpse of what the Naho’s world looks like, and that, together with the few chapters of the games that expand on it, you’ll get to understand her and her friends better (just so you know, she’s not just a heartless bitch that didn’t care about fooling everyone into being trapped into Heavenly Host).

In other news, huesubs have finished timing and releasing the Leviathan Shorts! Yayifications!!

As always, you can download the subs at the usual place. This marks the end of my first work in an anime (hopefully, any future ones will be faster, from both sides). I hope you’ve enjoyed the ride as much as we did. I’ll certainly miss the really smart dragons, but hopefully, the game is doing fine, and we’ll get to see more of them soon… which reminds me that the preair of the new Milky Holmes has already aired… I should check it out later.

Christmas is here

So, I’ve heard somewhere that on Christmas, good boys and girls receive presents from a guy named Santa or something like that. You may not have been good, but I’m no Santa either, so let me give you a little something.

First of all, you deserve an apology (specially ilp, that somehow has an amount of patience and faith out of this world). After being busy before summer with classes, I decided to take a little break, that somehow got extended because I didn’t feel like doing anything… and then everything went to shit and I became even busier as summer ended (among other things, I failed at a job interview for being stupid, finally got some accreditation for my English knowledge (CPE) and I took the Noken 3 Japanese exam (wasn’t sure I could pass 2’s kanji test)). So, between being busy, being stupid and procrastinating a lot, I have left this quite abandoned, and I’m really sorry for that.

But enough about my regrets. Let’s go with the news. What I bring you today is the second half of Corpse Party 2U. Yeah, second half means last half. It’s over. While the first half was a 1:1 adaptation of the game, the second took a lot of freedom, condensed a lot of things, and skipped over a lot (for example, Tsukasa barely appears in the whole thing, while in the game, he had a lot of scenes with Yui). I’m gonna say it was probably because of how the sales of the first volume did. Anyway, the last chapter becomes again an almost 1:1 adaptation (as one could expect, since it’s the only important one, although it’s a shame that there are a lot of great scenes that we’ll never see in the manga). I wonder if they’ll release the extra chapter (that explains who are Azusa and Ran) as an extra once the tank comes out. I’ll keep an eye on it.

I would love to say I still have more, but unfortunately, I don’t (maybe on new year, if I finish something I’m already working on). As a side note, I guess I can (and should) add that the Zettai Bouei Leviathan shorts have been completely translated, and only the last one is pending on timing and typesetting. Everything else is released and you can find it at the usual place.

With that said, the only thing left is to thank you for staying with me, even when I wasn’t here… that’s, of course, unless you’re interested in some music. Some people have shared some Yume Nikki related music on this uboachan thread (some of it, unavailable until now). There’s also this folder with the complete discography of zts that I collected some time ago (I’m posting it here because some anon recognized me when I posted it in the last remiyax thread on 4chan).
